ACI Motors Ltd. (“ACI Motors”) has established a Yamaha Motorcycle Manufacturing Plant (“Plant” or “Yamaha Plant”) in Gazipur District, Bangladesh. As a key player in the country's automobile industry, the Yamaha Plant, fully operational since 2019, produces various motorcycle models, including FZS FI, Saluto, R15, MT15, RZRR, and Fazer.
The Netherlands Development Finance Company (“FMO”) is considering providing financing to ACI Motors. This post-Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) implementation performance monitoring outlines essential actions ACI Motors must undertake during plant operations to ensure compliance with FMO's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards (IFC PSs 1 to 4), and relevant national regulations.
The post-ESAP implementation performance monitoring was conducted based on findings from the Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) carried out in August 2019 and Post ESAP audit. ACI Motors has engaged EQMS Consulting Limited, Bangladesh, to perform the audit of the Yamaha Plant and its maintenance centers.
